Power-Up with This Matcha Latte High in Protein Recipe

Matcha Latte - Protein Shake
We can all benefit from an energizing boost be it first thing in the morning, just when we've arrived at the office or immediately after grabbing lunch don't you agree?

We are used to grabbing coffee for this purpose, but too much coffee can have negative effects such as stomach disorders and stains on your teeth.

To fight coffee abuse it's a great idea to have black tea, herbal tea and, of course, matcha tea to mix it up. Swapping coffee for herbs or infusions like green tea is essential to avoid coffee dependence and also allows your body to benefit from different ingredients.

Matcha tea comes from Japan and it contains so many health benefits:

  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Full of antioxidants
  • Boosts metabolism giving you energy
  • Balances the PH level in your body
  • Detoxifies
  • High in:
    • Vitamin C,
    • Selenium,
    • Zinc,
    • Magnesium
    • And chromium
  • Decreases cholesterol levels in the blood

One of the best ways to consume this magic matcha powder is in the form of matcha latte with any kind of non-dairy milk. It is perfect for any season and at any time. You can also consume it mixed with water, like the Japanese during their tea rituals.

I hope we convinced you to try this amazing and delicious matcha tea. Now that you know all the nutrients you can get from it, it's time to prepare your matcha latte high in protein!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of unsweetened coconut milk or any other non-dairy milk that you have on hand
  • 1 teaspoon of green matcha powder
  • 1 tablespoon of coconut sugar
  • 1 bar of cinnamon bark or a pinch of cinnamon powder
  • 1 scoop of Vanilla Falcon Protein
  • A pinch of Himalayan sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small pot, heat the unsweetened coconut milk with cinnamon and sea salt.
  2. Once it reaches the boiling point, remove the cinnamon stick.
  3. Add the rest of the ingredients in the pot and stir quickly until all ingredients are mixed. Use a bamboo whisk if you have one as this is the tool used during matcha rituals in Japan.

To serve cold during summer, simply mix all the ingredients in a high-speed blender with ice.

Tip: If the matcha powder is clumping, dissolve it separately. Use a small amount of milk, add the powder and stir vigorously. Once it is well dissolved, add the rest of the milk and ingredients.

I hope that you will love the matcha latte protein shake as I do. Let us know what you think about this recipe in the comments below. Follow us on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter to stay in the know about new recipes and promos!
